The Abandoned Country, Transnistria

Transnistria is a country which is considered non-existing. Travel to Transnistria, it needs some proper planning. There is no control to this city from neighboring countries, and there are no airports too. You can communicate to this place via train from Chisinau. To your surprise, there is only one train in a day, if you miss that you miss your vacation.

These places are very astonishing to visit. It is so because of the inspiring war history of this place. Transnistria is a small territory which got its independence on 2nd September 1990. It is only recognized by two small countries South Ossetia and Nagorno-Karabakh

How to travel to Transnistria?

Transnistria is a small country, and people often question their decision to visiting this place. Chisinau being the bridge to this place attracts the tourists to spend more of their time there. The tour to the country is out of curiosity, not my wish. The visitors note many negative reviews from the tours. Expectations from the tour will be foolishness, but one who likes traveling will enjoy the visit.

The capital of Transnistria is Tiraspol. Bus services are carried to Tiraspol. Until today, communicating with a bus is a bigger challenge. People cancel their trips as they frequently missed their buses. Back then, catching a bus was rare, missing was often. Today the bus services are frequent in every 15 to 30 minutes.

The buses are the common means of transport and are not fancy. It will take 2 hours to reach Tiraspol from Chisinau. The 2 hours journey includes borders as well. The border inspections might make you a little nervous. Though it is a small city corruption and crimes still arise, hence border checking is strict.

You will be provided with a migration card while you enter Transnistria. You need to produce the migration card to the checkpoint assigned. After you submit the migration card, you will be asked two questions: The address you are going to stay in the country and how long is your stay in this country.
The entire procedure will take around 10 minutes and be surprised; there are no charges to enter the country. If someone is asking you for money, it is a possible fraud. There is one rule for you traveling to his country by train. If you choose to arrive on the train, then you must depart by train as well.

Places to visit in Tiraspol are eye-catching. Kirov Park, Drama and Comedy Theater, Victory Park, etc. People should visit this small territory to make this country known to the rest world.
